Late last month, I was given the opportunity to step out of the newsroom and turn a story for our 5 o'clock newscast.
After trolling the web a little, I found a new food-truck style company in Sacramento that uses locally made beer to create delicious desserts. It's called "Sugar & Stout" and the woman behind it is Linda Gooch. She agreed to make a few desserts for us, and do an interview about her new idea. I also got to talk to one of the breweries working with her about the idea. Check out the story below:
The original story aired July 27th on our 5 and 10 o'clock newscasts. You can read the web article here.
I'll be getting a few more chances to get out of the newsroom and put together stories for our newscasts later this month, which I plan to share with you on my blog as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
We haven't had a chance to get out and support Linda at one of her events yet-- our weekends have been packed with summer fun. But we are hoping to grab a beer and a sweet treat in the next few weeks. According to her facebook page, Linda looks like she's doing pretty well, and has even expanded to work with even more breweries.
If you're interested in learning more about Sugar & Stout you can check out the website, Facebook and/or Twitter page. And be sure to head out to one of Linda's events and support her!
